About a month ago we posted a new Say Hi To Your Mom track called ‘These Fangs’.  The song was pretty much everything one would expect from Eric Elbogen and his bedroom recorded mope rock; steady rhythm, tasteful use of electronic sounds, vampire lyrical content.  The one difference that stood out to me was his striking similarity to Third Eye Blind’s Stephen Jenkins during the chorus.  Take a listen and tell me if you hear it too.

Since we last spoke about Say Hi To Your Mom, Elbogen has posted 3 new mp3s on his website.  Like ‘These Fangs’ the tracks all come from his latest record, Impeccable Blahs, which has received some pretty good reviews so far.  My first run in with Elbogen’s music came earlier in the year when they opened up for Nada Surf at the El Ray in Los Angeles.  After his set I picked up his Ferocious Mopes album and I have been a fan ever since.  Do yourself a Wednesday favor and take a listen.
