El Boxeo - Tons

El Boxeo

Just as I was contemplating quitting the music listening business forever, along comes this sexy 3-piece post-rock band to inject some life back into my weary music blogging veins. I am talking about none other than the D-troit’s favorite semi-instrumental indie outfit El Boxeo. Their snazzy debut album, Awake and Dreaming, has got me digging music again- just like the good old days. You remember, like back in the day when we’d vacuum all the change from beneath the couch, then take the dust bag 5 miles into town and exchange it for that super rare vinyl version of SR-71’s You Can See Inside Now. Yeah, I remember those days. Anyway, if you too feel a musical ‘burn out’ coming on I suggest you download the following mp3s from El Boxeo’s Awake and Dreaming- their tangy freestyle, violin-coated flavor is guaranteed to have you standing up and shaking your popozao in no time. Or at least you’ll want to go and circle August 29th on your wall calender (that’s when the album comes out, duh!).
