John Vanderslice - Pixel Revolt Rarities

John Vanderslice

John Vanderslice’s Pixel Revolt was one of our favorite records of 2005.  In fact we think it is the best album he has ever recorded, which, considering how great Time Travel is Lonely and Life and Death of an American Four Tracker are, is saying something.  Today I’ve posted two rare versions of Exodus Damage and Dear Sarah Shu, as well as the original tracks as they appear on Pixel Revolt.  The accoustic version of Dear Sarah Shu is from Vanderslice’s up coming release Suddenly It Went Dark, made up of 12 tracks from Pixel Revolt recorded in a ‘chicken coop in California’.  You can hear some dogs barking towards the end of the track.  The Exodus Damage remix is brought to you courtesy of CMJ.
