Hailing from Denver, Colorado, the Love Letter Band create wonderful folk-rock tunes using a little bit of lofi-love, and a touch of western twang. They’ve taken alt-country up a notch and added a wide array of instruments into the mix to give it a nice experimental vibe.
The album starts off outdoors with birds, and seems to end up in a small bar somewhere. The guitar, whether electric, acoustic, or steel, gives off a country vibe that lasts throughout the record. Sometimes the vocals sound as if they are coming from a small PA system or a megaphone, oftentimes having a crowd join in with singing the tunes. This adds another level to the music which gives a unique, yet familiar quality to the music.
I can’t say enough about the instrumentals on this album. They really do give it a fuller sound that distinguishes it from past Love Letter Band records. Each song seems to flow ceaselessly into the next great tune, which makes it hard to recommend individual tracks. You just have to recommend the album in its entirety. Begin with track 1 and go until track 15, then rinse and repeat.
If you like anything under the alternative folk/K Records radar, then this is for you.

I am originally from Oklahoma, but currently reside near Washington DC on the Northern Virginia side. My Heart is still in midwest, and I'll eventually return, but for now, I am making the best of my situation here. I enjoy music, and I pretend to play the guitar well, and if I get motivated enough I'll make something for the world to hear. I sometimes go to shows if i deam it worth it to subway into DC for an evening. Bands that would drag me within 2 states no matter what the conditions would be: the Starlight Mints, Sparklehorse, and Radiohead. I grew a beard over the summer, but was unable to connect a mustache, so I went amishstyle for awhile. Now I am just a lot of hair and poorly shaven. I sometimes refer to things as "okay in my book", which someday will be written down and printed onto paper.
