Saves the Day – Sound the Alarm Posted on April 1st, 2006 by Rich Belize

There was a brief moment in time when it looked like Saves the Day were about to take over the world. It was the period after Stay What You Are had just come out, when the band was touring with acts like Green Day and Weezer and making waves in the mainstream market. The ball was placed on the tee as their new label DreamWorks watched eagerly from the stands waiting for their little boys to smack a home run. Instead they skinned the top of the ball and grounded out to the pitcher. Say what you will about their major label debut In Reverie, but it ultimately killed whatever momentum Saves the Day had going for them. Now 2 years later the band is back on Vagrant Records and looking to redeem themselves with Sound the Alarm, a record they call “short, fast and angry”. Sound promising? Take a listen for yourselves.

Although I was never a fan of these bays, I have friends who says the new stuff is still lacking and they missed the mark again.

Their new album is
ridiculously dark, evil,
and the vocals sound
very raw & “tin-y”.
Oh, dear Chris.
What have you done?
